Wellness Massage

Massage 002

Wellness massage is also a holistic treatment, where the focus is on relaxing muscle tissue and supporting the natural healing process of the body. The aim is preventive healing where your muscles are toned and relaxed, tensions eased out, aches are soothed and your daily stresses washed away.
Minor problems and issues are incorporated within the treatment while helping to increase your own body awareness. All the body systems are given a welcome boost by an intuitive approach using a creative selection of massage techniques.
A time to focus on your breathing and the movement of the therapists hands, allowing a more mindful and peaceful treatment, leaving you stress free and rejuvenated.

Deep Tissue Massage

Massage - Deep

Deep tissue massage is a combination of different body work approaches and using them to release deep localised tensions and normalise associated muscle function.
It uses similar techniques to Swedish massage, but the deeper pressure is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension where the focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia.
Deep tissue massage can enhance circulation, reduce fatigue, alleviate tight muscles and increase range of movement. Common symptoms including back pain, joint stiffness, respiratory problems, poor circulation and general fatigue are all catered for.

Sport Massage

Massage - Sport

Sport Massage is a form of bodywork geared toward participants in sports and athletics. It is used to help prevent injuries, to prepare the body for athletic activity or a specific event, and also to maintain it in its optimal condition. The massage is also an effective way to reduce muscle tenderness and increase flexibility.
The massage involves the manipulation of soft tissue for the purpose of injury prevention and as an aid to recovery from over-training as well as incorporating muscle focused stretching. Sports massage has three basic forms: pre-event massage, post-event massage, and maintenance massage.

Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy 02

Massage therapy during pregnancy is a wonderful complementary choice for prenatal care. Everyone can benefit from being less stressed, but for pregnant women in particular, less stress for them also translates into less stress for the growing baby. It is a healthy way to reduce stress and promote overall wellness in your body. Massage relieves many of the normal discomforts experienced during pregnancy, such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches and swelling.

Pregnancy 01

“You get my same great massage…

                                             … but with more pillows.”

In addition, massage for pregnant women reduces stress on weight-bearing joints, encourages blood and lymph circulation, helps to relax nervous tension, which aids in better sleep, and can help relieve depression or anxiety caused by hormonal changes.

Women with normal, low-risk pregnancies can benefit greatly from the variety of massage techniques offered. However, women in high-risk pregnancies should consult their doctor or midwife before beginning a massage program.
